When will be 6G available?

Although 5G is not fully implemented yet in Europe and the rest of the world, there is already information, some over a year old, on the development of the sixth generation of wireless communication technology.

These companies have shown their interest in the development of 6G. However, the one that has taken the lead and has officially started its development is Huawei.

The Chinese company will begin the deployment of 6G this summer by launching satellites to start testing.

In order to understand the use of satellites, we must consider that 5G networks depend on repeaters or base stations, whereas 6G will need satellites, mainly because of the frequencies speed.

6G release dates.

There is different information in this regard. We should remember that the tests have not even started, that there are still many users who do not have a 5G device nowadays, and the operators are still working on its deployment.

The dates range from the most optimistic that foresee the first connections in 2023, like the European Union, and those that say it will arrive in 2030, as is the case of Huawei.

Main advantages of 6G compared to 5G.

In the case of speed, there is no unanimity in this regard. Some data say it would be 50x faster than 5G, whereas others affirm it would be just 10x faster.

What is unanimous, and relevant for data transfer speed, is that latency times will be shorter since it will be measured in microseconds and not in milliseconds like now.
